Christian Institute for the Study of Religion (CISRS), a research wing of the Indian churches and Christian social action groups organizes an international seminar in association with its global ecumenical partners for Dalit theologians and theologians who accompany Dalits in the march to emancipation. This seminar undertakes an assessment of the fecundity of Dalit theology for invigorating transformations in the life of the churches and the society and envisions ways in which these beliefs and practices can find expression as a public witness. This international seminar is organized to equip Dalit theologians to look back critically to move forward creatively. While examining Dalit theology’s 40 years of journey, the seminar will explore the prospects and challenges of Dalit theology, especially in the wake of religious fundamentalism, cultural fascism, and neo-capitalism. The seminar brings together eminent scholars and theologians to envision innovative expressions of radical liberation theologies across the globe and to carve out new pathways for Dalit theology in India.
